radical yogini, Total Yoga Nidra advocate and eco-feminist activist

Uma Dinsmore-Tuli PhD ADHD is one of the world's leading voices on cyclical wisdom, yoga nidra and the rematriation of feminine power.

She met yoga in 1969, at the age of four, and fell in love. She's been practicing ever since, sharing cyclical, therapeutic yoga since 1994. Co-Founder of the Yoga Nidra Network, Uma has written six books, including Nidrā Shakti: The Power of Rest – An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Yoga Nidrā and Yoni Shakti: A Woman's Guide to Power and Freedom through Yoga and Tantra.

Uma trains specialist teachers in Yoni Shakti and Total Yoga Nidra. Recovering intuitive embodied and cyclical wisdom is at the heart of her writing and her approach to yoga therapy, which always includes yoga nidrā: the power of rest. In 2020, she established the Yoni Shakti Movement Campaign to Eradicate the Abuse of Women in Yoga. Following a two year court case she defended her right to publish details of abusers named in Yoni Shakti.

Uma offers 1-1 sessions both on zoom and in person, and is the lead teacher for the Yoni Shakti and Total Yoga Nidra offerings, as well as hosting her Circle of Seers and The Nest communities. She is also available as a guest speaker and facilitator, bringing her expertise in cyclical wisdom, yoga nidra and rematriation to events, conferences and retreats worldwide.

Uma dedicates her life's work to her three children, and to the future of a rested humanity, reconnected to intuition and to land.

Cycliteracy and Radical
Acts of Rematriation

Uma's passion as a writer and as a teacher is to transmit clarity of awareness, creativity and profound vitality. She identifies these teachings as radical acts of rematriation, rooted in intuitive arts and in yoga tantra, drawing on a variety of yogic traditions to share deeply nourishing and enlivening practices appropriate for contemporary life.

Her practice and teaching respects the cyclical powers of the living earth, and honours human life cycles as spiritual initiations, including menarche, conscious menstruation, menopause, birth and postnatal recovery. Her work intersects intuitive healing arts with yoga nidra and yoga therapy, including dream decoding and Motherpeace Tarot reading, which feature in her 1-1 work.

She has developed Total Yoga Nidra, Wild Nidra, Yoni Nidra and Nidra Shakti: radical creative and intuitive approaches to sharing yoga nidra. She co-founded the Yoga Nidra Network in XXX and the Yoni Shakti course in XXX. Uma co-created the annual community Santosa Living Yoga and Bhakti Camp which ran for 17 years, with five daily yoga nidra practices at the heart of the camp schedule.

Uma is certified as a Yoga Therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapy and holds diplomas in Yoga Therapy from the Yoga Biomedical Trust, and the late Mukunda Stiles (Structural and Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy).

Uma's teachings and wisdom have always felt to me like a remembering deep within my being. It is no exaggeration to say my life has been changed and deeply enriched by her work.

Yoga of Noticing

Noticed this morning:
Exquisite crescent,
remnant of the waning moon, hanging bright and clear.
Her tail tip touches the dark edge of the wood on the hill
whilst owls call beneath the dawn descant of tiny birds.

Three breaths only I saw this beauty,
before moon and owls were gone.
And what to know from this?

Only what I see:
this waning beauty is not for long.
Three breaths only and she is gone.
The moment of glimpsing is precious:
we need eyes and ears open to see this brightness on the edge of dark;
to hear the robin and owl together.

Synchronous sight and sound.
Signs to see.

A community grounded in Yoga Nidrā, Dreaming & Cyclical Wisdom, held by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli

A space to practice, listen, remember, and belong.

This is an ongoing circle for those devoted to the path of yoga nidrā, rematriation and cycliteracy - for those who feel the quiet call toward rest, rhythm, and inner knowing.

This is not a course you complete ...

it is a rhythm you enter.

A daily return.
A place to be witnessed.
A circle of practice, imagination, and deep nourishment.

Here, we gather as Seers and Witnesses –
committing to the simple, radical act of daily yoga nidrā.

The Heart of the Circle is a the Daily Yoga Nidrā Practice

How may I be of Service to you today?

One to One

MotherPeace Tarot Nidra Session Online

We spend the first part of the session listening to where you are and why you are seeking a reading. We shuffle the deck, then I show you each card and read the spread. You ask more questions! And then you rest in yoga nidrā and the cards of your reading form the basis of a healing yoga nidra to offer wisdom and guidance to you from the cards in your resting state. You take away a photograph of the spread, the recording of the reading, and a separate recording of your special tarot nidra.

Mentoring Session Online

Sometimes what is needed is just time to be heard – We spend the first part of the session listening to where you are and why you are seeking mentoring. I listen in to where you are, and provide mentoring for personal and professional issues. You bring your question, and outline your current situation. I ask you questions, and together we co-create a responsive plan of action, practice and self-nurture to enable you to realise your goals for your work. You take away a recording of your session .

The Nest

The Nest is your place to be seen and held online and in person, to be nurtured and supported. It is a place to be affirmed and provoked, to be nourished and restored, to be encouraged and inspired as you lay, hatch and nurture the eggs of your sharing in this world, this lifetime.

The Nest is a rematriated place of restful being and vibrant creativity where you are met in the wholeness of your reconnection to cyclical power.

The Nest is my container for your growth.

"I’ve had the great gift of sharing space created and held by Uma in many shapes over the years and always leave with a full heart, an assured mind and tended spirit. Her spaces are no bullshit, radical, heartfelt & nurturing homecomings. It’s a wonderful web to be woven into."
